Teaching EFL to Young Learners and Teenagers

 

 

 

 

 

The IATEFL YLTSIG EVO 2015 sessions will examine teaching English to Young Learners and Teens from around the world using using storytelling and drama, games, and action songs. 

 

 

Session Objectives

 

By the end of this workshop, participants will have:

 

 

 

 

Target audience


These sessions are designed for all those involved in teaching young learners and teens irrespective of context or degree of experience. Participants will be expected to have the basic skills necessary to facilitate communication via an online discussion group.

Charles Goodger is an English teacher, musician, teacher trainer, digital materials writer, playwright, songwriter and entrepreneur.

He is committed to helping teachers use action songs effectively in the classroom. He believes in the emotional power of music and movement to enhance the learning process. Goodger’s action songs are now used in schools in over 120 countries around the world.

Chattopadhyay, Kalyan

Kalyan Chattopadhyay works as a teacher trainer, lecturer, researcher, and consultant in a range of contexts. He has given plenary and invited talks in Cambodia, China, Nepal, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Taiwan, UK, and Vietnam. He has long-standing interest in technology-assisted language learning, and teaching young learners.

He is the Coordinator, IATEFL, Young Learners and Teenagers SIG and Vice President, Asia Association of Computer Assisted Language Learning. An alumnus of the University of Leeds, and Hornby Trust (UK) he works as the Director, English Language Centre, Bankim Sardar College. He has written course books for the Cambridge University Press, and has received prestigious IELTS research award in 2014.
