Description
In this session we will work with Hot Potatoes to prepare activities for the young learner EFL classroom
Objectives
To familiarize participants with Hot Potatoes
To give them the opportunity to create a variety of activiites using Hot Potatoes
To evaluate the program
Target audience
EFL teachers of learners aged 7-12 with basic computer skills.

Weekly content
Week 1
Introductions, completing a survey
Week 2
Presentation of interactive activities / related literature / discussion / intro to hot potatoes - presentation - review. Discussion on the advantages and dissadvantages of the programme, Hot Potatoes
Week 3
Downloading the programme, going though tutorials.
Week 4
Prepare activites on JMix, JMatch and JCross. Post brief comments on the procedure and impressions.
Week 5
Prepare activities on Jcloze, JQuiz. Post brief comments and impressions. Upload activities. Prepare a hot potatoes revies - evaluation with sugestions on how to use activities in the classroom.
Week 6
Upload review .Follow up discussion and conclusions.

Hello from Cyprus!!!
Sending the first message as required. This is my first time on this session and I'm really looking forward to it.
I am a trained primary school teacher and EFL teacher currently employed by the Ministry of Education and Culture of Cyprus, as an EFL teacher and an EFL co-ordinator and advisor for primary education (BEd, Masters in Applied Linguistics for Language teaching, PhD in teaching EFL to young primary school learners). My areas of interest are teacher training, use of computer and technology in the classroom, EFL-ESL teaching.
Rubena St. Louis
Rubena has a MSc. in Applied Linguistics from Simón Bolívar University, in Venezuela where she teaches in their graduate program and ESP courses (English for Science and Technology and English for Computer Science) at undergraduate level. Her interests include cognition and learning, Materials development and Evaluation, Language Teaching Methodologies, Information and Communication Technology in Language Learning and Autonomous Learning.
