Classroom-Based Research for Professional Development

This EVO project provides a hands-on introduction to inquiry-based teacher development, especially (though not exclusively) for teachers working in difficult circumstances (large classes, low-resource classrooms, etc.). The project takes participants through different stages of teacher-research, engaging them in practical activities which will gradually build their confidence in this area.

Developing Intercultural Competence Through the Use of Online Resources

EVO ViLLAGE 2017

This EVO session focuses on applying games in virtual teaching – using ideas from f2f (face to face) and transferring them to virtual language learning.We aim to create new games in virtual worlds using the affordances these immersive environments have to offer and are making machinima (videos) to demonstrate how the games work.

Flipped Learning

This five-week online workshop is designed for both those new to flipped learning and those who are already flipping their classes. In flipped learning, content delivery takes place outside of class freeing the instructor to focus class on interactive, collaborative projects and activities for maximum language acquisition in a meaningful context. Participants will practice with various video creation tools, gain skills in curating already existing media, and will learn how to effectively incorporate these resources into their teaching practices. Of course, whenever possible, the workshop employs a flipped approach!

Moodle4Teachers

(M4TEVO17) session will take place on the latest Moodle 3.1. Participants will learn about resources, activities, and blocks available in a Moodle course as students and practice with the role of a teacher and manager. In weeks 4 and 5, they will work collaboratively to design and develop their own Moodle course. Participants will learn to create video tutorials using screencast-o-matic, Knovio, Present me, and SlideSpeech.

Techno-CLIL

CLIL – Content and Language Integrated Learning - is a "dual focus" methodology, fostering the development of language competencies and the delivery of subject content at the same time. It refers to the learning of a curricular subject in a foreign language, with great advantages in terms of students' learning outcomes and cognitive processes.
