By the end of this online session, participants will have..."
1. learned the difference between podcast and podcasting 2. recorded podcasts using Audacity and/or MP3 Skype Recorder 3. recorded podcasts using web-based recorders (eg., Podomatic, Audioboo, Vocaroo, Podbean, SoundCloud) 4. edited a recording in Audacity to add jingle music to podcasts 5. become familiar with applications of podcasting in ELT (Readings) 6. written up a podcast project 7. created a blog to showcase recordings and project 8. become familiar with iTunes, Glogster, Google forms, Google docs, Voxopop, Wiziq and podcast apps for mlearning
Weekly Outline
Week 1 (Jan 13 - 19, 2014)
During the first week of the course, participants will:
1. sign up and try tools for synchronous and/or asynchronous communication to be used during the session 2. exchange introductions 3. add themselves to a group map 4. answer a survey to determine their previous experience with web 2.0 tools and podcasting 5. record expectations for the course on a web-based recorder
6. search for podcast websites and create a pool of useful podcasts for the ELT classroom (ESL-EFL and "authentic" podcasts).
7. participate in the weekly live session

Week 2 (Jan 20 - 26, 2014)
During the second week of the course, participants will:
1. discuss what podcast / podcasting are. 2. become familiar with tools to record podcasts, such as Audacity, web based recorders, and handhelds. 3. learn on how to publish a podcast by using Audacity and webhosting services. 4. do the weekly reading and participate in the discussion forum.

Week 3 (Jan 27 - Feb 2, 2014)
During the third week of the course, participants will:
1. learn more about podcasting (Readings) 2. edit audio files using Audacity. 3. add jingle music to audio files using Audacity. 4. record Skype conversations with Mp3 Skype recorder. 5. outline a podcasting project for an ESL/EFL classroom using lesson template. 6. post the project outline to their session blog and comment on at least two fellow participants’ projects.

Week 4 (Feb 3 - Feb 9, 2014)
During the fourth week of the course, participants will:
1. explore more web-based recorders: Audioboo, Vocaroo and Chirbit, and do the activities requested. 2. add their bios and embed glogster in podcasting project blogs. 4. describe their podcasting projects. 5. do the weekly reading and participate in the discussion forum.

Week 5 (Feb 10 -16, 2014)
During the fifth week of the course (Wrap up), participants will:
1. tweak blogs and finish podcast projects. 2. record podcast and embed it in their blogs to invite people to attend the podcasting fair. 3. become familiar with iTunes and podcast apps. 4. assess their own learning and join the group Voicethread discussion. 5. participate in the weekly live session
6. answer the workshop evaluation survey. 7. attend the graduation party.
