About EVO
For five weeks in January and February, TESOL experts and participants from around the world engage in collaborative online discussions or hands-on virtual workshops of professional and scholarly benefit. These sessions bring together participants for a longer period of time than is permitted by land-based professional development conventions and allow a fuller development of ideas than is otherwise possible.
EVO Sessions are free and open to anyone around the globe. It is not necessary to be a TESOL or IATEFL member nor to attend the TESOL Convention in order to participate. All you need is access to the Internet.
Co-moderation with several other people is strongly recommended. Session leaders (moderators) need not have previous experience in online teaching. Hands-on professional development in online discussion management and the use of live virtual video chat and audio rooms take place for four weeks each year.
EVO sessions are sponsored by a TESOL Interest Section or affiliate, an IATEFL Special Interest Group, or other groups or affiliates. Sponsors provide no financial support. If you do not have a sponsor, the Coordination Team can help you find one or more.
For further information, please read: What is EVO and the Mission of EVO.
